Allen Weg
Dr. Allen Weg is a New Jersey Licensed Psychologist. He is Founder and Director of Stress and Anxiety Services of New Jersey, with offices in East Brunswick and Florham Park, New Jersey, specializing in evidence-based therapies for OCD spectrum disorders, PTSD, Anxiety Disorders, and Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors in children, adolescents, and adults.
He is Co-Founder and President of OCD New Jersey and is a member of the Scientific and Clinical Advisory Board of the International OCD Foundation. In addition, Dr. Weg is a faculty member and certified by both the Behavior Therapy Training Institute of the International OCD Foundation, and the Professional Training Institute of the Trichotillomania Learning Center. He is also a graduate of the Telehealth Behavioral Institute training in providing telehealth services.
Since 1991, Dr.Weg has served as a Field Clinical Supervisor for the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University. He is the author and presenter of "OCD Tips," a series of short video clips reviewing exposure strategies for OCD found on the Stress and Anxiety Services Youtube channel. Dr. Weg has contributed a book chapter entitled, Storytelling and Use of Metaphor in the Treatment of OCD in the Social Workers’ Desk Reference, second edition, in response to a specific request by the editor-in-chief. He also authored the book, OCD Treatment Through Storytelling, as well as the chapter, OCD in the Educational Setting, in the textbook, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: Phenomenology, Pathophysiology, and Treatment, published by Oxford University Press.
Dr. Weg has been seen previously on several cable and Internet TV talk shows, and was featured on the ABC news show Primetime 20/20, which focused on the treatment of children with OCD, as well as NPR’s Voices in the Family, where he discussed OCD treatment.
