Amber Ufford
Dr. Amber Ufford is a licensed psychologist and Director of the Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Program at Cognitive & Behavioral Consultants (CBC) who provides individual, family, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Ufford’s specializations include the treatment of depression and mood disorders, personality disorders, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobias, self-injurious behaviors, ADHD, and disruptive behavior disorders. Dr. Ufford has expertise in providing various evidence-based treatments and has received comprehensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), in addition to traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Additionally, Dr. Ufford has also received comprehensive training in DBT-PE and is a member of the Trauma Team at CBC. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University. Dr. Ufford believes in helping her clients learn and practice skills in all areas of their lives in order to change ineffective behavior patterns, reduce emotional suffering, develop more adaptive coping responses, and pursue a values-based lifestyle. She aims to treat all clients with respect and to help them experience their emotions in a safe and supportive environment.
