My name is Andrea Rashtian and I am a licensed counseling psychologist in a private practice setting with extensive experience working with a variety of clinical issues with adults, children, couples and families. I have been clinically trained in working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, as well as individuals experiencing depression and anxiety symptoms. I also have a master's in Marriage and Family therapy, and my therapeutic approach is cognitive-behavioral, which means we will work together on identifying how one’s thoughts effect their behaviors and vice versa. My goals with my clients are to decrease their symptoms and improve their quality of life, and we will work together to meet your therapeutic goals in an open, honest, supportive environment. I am in my office on weekday mornings and early afternoons, as well as Saturday afternoons. My shared office space is handicap accessible and easily accessible to the freeway. I was a children’s social worker for 6 years working with families on reunification and safety, so I am familiar with court ordered therapy requirements and court letters. I received my master’s and doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Southern California in 1998. I am also currently a part-time professor at three universities specializing in child psychology, general psychology, abuse, motivation and behavioral abnormalities.
