About:

Dr. Anna Long earned her doctorate in School Psychology in 2009 from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Before graduation, she completed an internship accredited by the American Psychological Association at Central Regional Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Subsequently, she completed two post-doctoral fellowships, one specializing in child and youth behavioral health and the other specializing in educational psychology. Dr. Long offers assessment services to clarify the nature of developmental, behavioral, emotional, social, and learning-related concerns. Assessment services include psychological evaluations, psycho-educational evaluations (learning disability, ADHD), and comprehensive autism/developmental disability evaluations. Treatment services include behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and caregiver and school-based consultation.

Dr. Long has worked with a wide range of youth (ages 3 to 21 years) in school-based and clinical settings. She provides research-supported and client/family-responsive treatments with expertise in the treatment of behavioral concerns, anxiety, depression, grief, peer and family conflict, and adjustment issues stemming from significant life events. She also specializes in the healthy development of identity (individual, racial/ethnic, adoptive, gender, sexual), self-esteem, and resilience in adolescents and young adults. A unique area of specialization for Dr. Long is her assessment and treatment of culturally and linguistically diverse youth.
