I'm Dr. Carl Waitz, licensed psychologist based in Brookline, MA. I earned my doctoral degree in clinical psychology in the APA accredited program at Azusa Pacific University, near Los Angeles. My clinical rotations included public and private schools, community mental health with students and young adults, residential psychiatric hospitals, and acute psychiatric hospitals.
I completed internship training in the APA accredited program at the UT Health San Antonio medical school where I received psychodynamic training in work with children and adolescents across outpatient, acute, and residential hospital settings.
My APA accredited fellowship training was in the Suicide Prevention and Resilience at Children's (SPARC) program at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. In this intensive outpatient program, I led CBT groups for adolescents with suicidal thoughts and behaviors, established safety plans with families, conducted ongoing safety assessments, and provided individual and conjoint (with parents) therapy.
Currently, I am an attending psychologist at Boston Children's Hospital and a Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School. In my role, I conduct individual, group, and family therapy as well as psychological testing and consultation to medical staff.
