Metro Psychological Services, LLC was incorporated by Dr. Cheryl Sybesma Van Noord, PhD, LP in 2010 as an independent private practice. Dr. Sybesma Van Noord received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University in 2008. She completed her predoctoral internship and fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) specializing in treating and assessing children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient setting as well as providing consultation to medical professionals. She later worked for HCMC (now Hennepin Healthcare Systems) as a Senior Clinical Psychologist involved in providing psychological services and training predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees. She has practiced in hospital and private practice settings and has worked in program development and training in evidence-based treatments.

At Metro Psychological Services, Dr. Sybesma Van Noord provides therapy, assessment, and consultation services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her theoretical orientation is integrative, including cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal process, and family systems with additional training in dialectal behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy. Clinical interests include adjustment to single and complex trauma, treatment of anxiety and depression, assessment and treatment of ADHD, treatment of traumatic brain injury, the utilization of psychological evaluation for diagnostic clarification, and implementing evidence-based service in clinical settings. She enjoys working collaboratively with patients and their families to address these and other mental health concerns.
