D Malcolm SpicaMalcolm Spica, Ph.D. is a clinical neuropsychologist in East Tennessee. He performs neuropsychological examinations to assess a variety of conditions, providing diagnoses and treatment recommendations to the patient, health care team, and family. He also frequently performs neuropsychological Independent Medical Examinations for individuals and clients such as plaintiff or defense attorneys, insuring institutions, and employers.

The examinations serve to assess and document an individual's neurobehavioral status, and the examination report is typically issued to the client within 3 days after clinical data are collected (including pertinent medical records). Dr. Spica utilizes professionally conventional and comprehensive methods of examination including modern measures of symptoms validity, effort and motivation.

Dr. Spica received his doctorate and masters degrees in clinical psychology from Michigan State University. He also gained clinical neuropsychology training from the Battle Creek Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC), the University of Michigan Neuropsychology Program, and the Ann Arbor VAMC. Dr. Spica completed a clinical neuropsychology internship at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center-Hillside Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Spica has been in clinical practice for more than twenty-five years, served as Director of Neurobehavioral Associates, and was the Chief Psychologist at The Montcalm Center for Behavioral Health (Montcalm County Community Mental Health). His academic work includes serving as a preceptor and lecturer for the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Human Medicine, lecturer for the MSU Clinical Psychology Department. Dr. Spica was also an Adjunct Lecturer in the MSU Department of Psychiatry (Neuropsychology Seminar).
