About:

Dr. Hatfield works intensively with the family, providing parenting education and support, child contingency management, school system support, and family systems interventions.

Dr. Hatfield is one of very few practitioners in the State of Colorado to hold both licensure as a Psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst-D. He was appointed the only service provider on the Autism Commission for the State of Colorado in 2008, received the Autism Society of Colorado Outstanding Autism Service Provider Award in 2011, and an invited Content Expert for the BACB in 2013-2014 and 2019-2020. Currently he is on the Board of Directors for Colorado ABA (CO ABA), as well as their Chair for the Public Policy Committee. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy, and Association for Applied Behavior Analysis International. He obtained his masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the Florida State University, and doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Dr. Hatfield is committed to the provision of empirically supported therapeutic services—i.e., interventions that work. His approach is best described as a simple, concrete, problem solving model, which combines cognitive, behavioral, and applied behavior analytic methodologies. This results in client or family centered treatment plans that are supportive and effective, while promoting independence and dignity.

Dr. Hatfield has three sons. He enjoys hiking, trail running, landscaping, and spending time with his family. He actively supports the Sierra Club.
