About:

Diana DahlgrenI specialize in psychological testing and evaluation of children, adolescents and adults to assess intellectual, educational, personality, emotional, and behavioral functioning. I offer ADHD, LD, GT (AAP), and ED evaluations for purposes of school placement, as well as special education services and accommodations, including on standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, LSAT, GRE, GMAT, and MCAT. I provide forensic services which include court evaluations and child custody evaluations, and therapy services which include individual, marital, and family therapy.

I have extensive experience conducting evaluations for the purpose of applying for accommodations for students at all educational levels, including those who have ADHD, learning disabilities, or emotional disabilities. I specialize in gifted and talented evaluations, testing for the AAP (Advanced Academic Program) in Fairfax County, private school admission evaluations, adoption evaluations, and kindergarten readiness assessments.

I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Stanford University (with Departmental Honors and University Distinction), with an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hawaii, and with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Maryland. I completed an internship and externship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and a residency in Emergency Services at Northwest Center for Community Mental Health in Reston, Virginia. While I have been in full-time independent practice in Fairfax, Virginia since 1987, I have worked as a consulting psychologist at the National Institute of Mental Health (Child Psychiatry Branch) in Bethesda, Maryland, at the Law Enforcement Assessment Center in Fairfax, Virginia, and at Dominion Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia.
