Dr. Djenane Nakhle is a New York State licensed psychologist self-employed in private practice. She specializes in individual and family consultation with focus on treatment of anxiety, interpersonal relationships, and diagnostic assessment.

Dr. Nakhle speaks English and French and is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Nakhle is in the process of writing a fictionalized memoir.

Dr. Nakhle is enthusiastic about fitness and wellness, engaged in strength training, tumbling, and Zumba.

Dr. Nakhle received her Ph.D. in Child and School Psychology from New York University School of Education in September 1995. Dr. Nakhle’s academic distinctions include numerous honors extending from her early days as an undergraduate student: Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Delta Kappa and The Lawrence Erlbaum Award for Distinguished Departmental Honors Thesis to the culmination of her research awards as a doctoral candidate: The Viola Bernard Endowment Fund at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and The National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect (NCCAN) within the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). In the New York University Commencement Exercises in May 1996, Dr. Nakhle was valedictorian dually distinguished by being selected as the doctoral class representative for the Department of Applied Psychology and for the School of Education, for which she delivered the valedictory address and received the doctoral degree for the whole school.

Dr. Nakhle has held distinctive academic appointments. In 1996-2002. Dr. Nakhle was an assistant clinical professor of medical psychology in psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, teaching graduate seminars on diagnostic psychological evaluation, individual psychotherapy, and parenting skills and at New York State Psychiatric Institute, teaching graduate seminars focusing on the assessment and treatment of psychological trauma and working with multicultural populations.
