Edan Alcalay
Dr. Alcalay received his Doctorate and Masters in Clinical Psychology at CAU in Miami, Florida. He conducted research on Teaching Responsible Behaviors to Adolescents, (TRBA), and Program for Alcohol Abusing Adolescent using Combined Therapy & Exercise (PACTE). He also has received advanced training from the Florida Psychoanalytic Center (FPC). In addition to providing traditional psychotherapy and psychological testing, Dr. Alcalay is an E.M.D.R. (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapist which is used in the treatment of PTSD. Additionally, Dr. Alcalay utilizes child-centered Play therapy for early behavioral issues & improving self-esteem. He is also a Qualified Supervisor.
Dr. Alcalay is a clinical psychologist who specializes in treating children/ adolescents with anxiety, mood disorders, suicide & crisis management. His speciality training provides him expertise in treating those who are victims of abuse/trauma, addiction, bipolar disorder and psychosis. He collaborates with academic institutions, provides parenting workshops and psychoeducational lectures.
Dr. Alcalay is also professor at Lynn University and conducts research on Anxiety Explosion, Digital Era and its Impact on our Youth, Project Brain, and Child Group Play. Furthermore, Dr. Alcalay is a member of the Association for Play Therapy (APT), United Way of Broward, and Florida Psychological Association (FPA).
