About:

Eileen Escarce, PhD, MA, MSNEileen Escarce Ph.D., M.A., M.S.N., is a licensed clinical psychologist with previous certification as a school psychologist and pediatric nurse practitioner. Her education was completed at Bryn Mawr College’s Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (PhD, MA), University of Miami Medical School's Mailman Center for Child Development (APA Clinical Child/Pediatric Psychology Predoctoral Intern), Stanford University (Special Studies/Psychology and Spanish), and Yale University (MSN) .

Dr. Escarce' s child assessment training spanned all ages at Yale (e.g., newborns at Boston Children's Hospital's Child Development Unit, preschoolers at Yale Child Study Center, and infants/children at Yale Medical School's Pediatric Clinic.) Later, for her doctoral thesis, she studied the development of slow-to-talk toddlers and their reading at age 8. She offered psycho-educational assessments for elementary schools’ admissions and gifted programs at Bryn Mawr's Child Study Center. As a certified school psychologist at Episcopal Academy of Merion, PA (1991-93) she provided IQ tests and classroom consults (Pre-K to grade 3). On moving to Los Angeles, Dr. Escarce assessed children for Cedars Sinai Pediatrics in West Hollywood Schools (2000-01), St. John’s Child & Family Development Center’s Birth to 5 Program (2001-03), Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center (infants or children with suspected developmental delays and autism (2005-09), Los Angeles County Dept of Mental Health AB3632 Unit (school-age children with severe emotional disorders (2003-06), and UCLA Family Commons (2010-11).

She consulted at Family Services of Santa Monica for SMMUSD's Head Start & State Preschools (2009-12), and Growing Place Infant/Child Care settings (2010-present). She is a community volunteer for the Advisory Council to FSSM Early Childhood Wellbeing Project, and chaired the LA Co. Psychological Assn.'s Child & Adolescent Group (2006-13).

In private practice, she offers assessment, therapy, and consultation.
