EMILIE NEY
As a School Psychologist, I specialize in providing culturally sensitive psychoeducational assessments. The primary clientele that I serve includes students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 in either private or public schools who have unique educational needs. This generally involves referrals for ADHD, Autism, Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities, Gifted, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities (including Dyslexia). My goal is to assist these students to receive the services they need by identifying areas of strength and weakness, diagnosing disabilities, providing recommendations for treatment, and collaborating with school personnel or other service providers.
School Psychologists have the expertise to assess for educational diagnoses as well as clinical diagnoses. As such, I have knowledge of the school referral process, including Response to Intervention, Multidisciplinary Teams, writing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and Special Education law. I have specialized training in unbiased multicultural and bilingual assessment.
I am available to provide services in the client's school setting in order to facilitate collaboration with school personnel, observe the client in the classroom, minimize the amount of class time the client misses, and minimize the burden on parents. Services are also available in my North Miami office.
