About:

Dr. Evan Graber received his BA in psychology from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1977. He then went on to obtain a PhD in clinical psychology at the State University of New York in Albany. He and his wife Cindy, who is also a PhD clinical psychologist, came to Massachusetts in 1981 to do an internship in child and family psychology at South Shore Mental Health Center in Quincy, Massachusetts. They moved to the Worcester area in 1982, where Dr. Graber began his career as a therapist, supervisor, teacher and administrative director in Central Massachusetts.

Dr. Graber is the former Director of Outpatient Services for Y.O.U., Inc. in Worcester, a title he held for a period of twenty-five years; in this position he was a member of the agency’s Senior Management Team and the Director of Psychology Training as well. As of July 2015 Dr. Graber stepped away from this position, but continued at Y.O.U., Inc. in a part-time capacity, as the Director of Intern Training. He retired fully from Y.O.U., Inc. as of June 2016. Previous places of employment as a staff psychologist include North Central Human Services in Gardner, MA, and Acton Mental Health Associates in Acton, MA; and, at the Worcester Youth Guidance Center in Worcester, MA, Dr. Graber held the positions of Director of Children’s Services and Director of the Worcester Juvenile Court Clinic.

Dr. Graber and his wife, Dr. Cindy Graber, have a shared private psychology practice in Worcester for over thirty years, seeing multiple generations and configurations of families, as well as individual children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Dr. Graber has developed special interests and expertise in working with teens and families in the midst of transgender recognition and transitions; and also in addressing issues of healthy masculinity as it relates to raising boys to be better men, fatherhood, men’s general health issues, anger management and violence prevention.
