Haley Kutner
Dr. Kutner’s overall therapy goals are to help her clients identify and address the barriers and stressors that interfere with their ability to lead productive and fulfilling lives. She utilizes this overarching principle to address the various presenting needs of her clients from helping an individual cope with a primary medical illness to addressing stressors associated with life transitions, interpersonal conflicts, or primary anxiety or depression. Dr. Kutner draws from several therapy approaches including cognitive behavioral, internal family systems, and interpersonal therapy as well as integrating relaxation based techniques into her practice in order to meet each individual’s needs.
Dr. Kutner’s areas of specialization and interest include helping individuals address the emotional and behavioral aspects of their medical condition, identifying and modifying lifestyle behaviors that serve as risk factors for disease progression, and providing pre-surgical psychological evaluations for individuals considering bariatric surgery. In addition to her specialization in health psychology, Dr. Kutner also has extensive experience working with children and adolescents with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and ADHD, utilizing both behavioral and cognitive strategies to improve executive functioning skills, social awareness, and interpersonal relationships.
