Jeanette Sawyer Cohen
Dr. Jeanette Sawyer Cohen (Ph.D., M.Phil., M.S., IMH-E®) is a Columbia University trained psychologist with extensive experience helping parents and children. She specializes in women's mental health including trauma, anxiety, depression and stress in the perinatal period and beyond. She also treats children with anxiety, sensory issues, and challenging behavior, and has worked with children with autism spectrum disorder for over 15 years. Dr. Sawyer Cohen holds faculty positions at NY Medical College, where she supervises an early childhood rotation for psychiatry fellows; Weill Cornell Medical College, and Columbia University, where she has advanced the concept of mindful parenting. Recognized for her expertise in the areas of infancy and child development, mindfulness and emotional intelligence, and parent-child interactions, she is involved in research, consulting, advocacy and child policy work.
