About:

Jessica BernackiI provide evidence-based therapy to children, youth, and adults. My areas of specialization include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety disorders and depression, Affirmative Therapy for transgender and gender diverse (TGD) youth and adults, and trauma informed therapy for individuals and families coping with medical illness. Additionally I have experience with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and Habit Reversal Training (HRT) for body-focused repetitive behaviors such as tic disorders, trichotillomania, and skin-picking. I also have a passion for working with parents to address issues such as sleep, feeding, toileting, and behavior management.

In addition to my private practice, I am the psychologist for the UCLA Gender Health Program where I have worked with transgender and gender diverse folks of all ages since the program was founded in 2016. I have provided gender affirmative psychotherapy, interdisciplinary consultation, and teaching as part of this program, and offer these services in my private practice as well.

I have trained and worked as a pediatric psychologist helping youth and adults coping with chronic illnesses such as cancer, organ transplant, and diabetes. I have worked at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
