Many survivors of trauma feel isolated from their supportive relationships and community, feeling intense and persistent fear, anxiety, agitation, and at times disconnection. Trauma dramatically shifts our experiences of the world and how we relate to others, leaving many feeling alone and stuck simply surviving day to day. Trauma is a psychological injury, and is reparable and treatable. With a multimodal approach, I help clients restore a sense of safety in their environment and within themselves, deeply heal they traumatic injuries, and reconnect to their relationships and engage closely in meaningful lives.
I utilize a network of methods to facilitate a recovery process for each client, tailored to their individual needs. This includes developing emotion regulation skills, constructing a reparative narrative to reintegrate the traumatic events into a self narrative, and engage personal core values and long-term life worth living goals and relationships.
“The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.” Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves
