Dr. Kiel has practiced psychology since 1970, in Missouri, California, and Illinois (where he taught behavioral
dentistry at SIUE Dental School). He is a specialist in mood and behavioral disorders, and uses a variety of
scientifically-proven behavioral and cognitive-behavioral treatments. He is also a trauma treatment specialist.
He helps clients with work-related problems (including stress and harassment), and treats children and teens
with wide-spectrum emotional and behavioral problems, as he does with adults, couples, families, athletes,
and seniors.
He is originally from New York, and has worked (while going to college) for the Dept. of Labor in the Harlem
Community in Manhattan. He has also volunteered at the homeless shelter, New Life Evangenlistic Center,
and for Jewish and Muslim Day on Christmas Day. He has also managed and trained others for dealing with
a variety of community traumas. Examples are a murder in a St. Louis Co. school district; City Hall shootings
in Kirkwood, Mo.; tornadoes in St. Louis Co. and elsewhere; sexual and racial-based assaults. He also works
with clients who have problems at their worksites, and with individuals who have suffered criminal arrests.
He practices reminiscence therapy with older adults and seniors.
