Laura Naman
Greetings! My name is Dr. Laura Naman, and if you are exploring the APA Psychologist Locator website you are likely searching for answers or change for yourself, a family member, or loved one. If you are taking this step for the first time, in need of additional psychological services, or looking to change providers I commend you for taking this step. My hope and goal for each client/family I work with is to help you achieve a “Eureka!” moment and make meaningful and change propelling personal discoveries – whether through the psychotherapy services that I offer or the psychological testing/evaluation services that I offer. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
My Approach and Style: I approach all of my work with clients with curiosity and openness and I am skilled at building a strong working alliance with clients with widely varied backgrounds. My approach is warm, authentic, and active and I often integrate treatment modalities in order to customize treatment for my clients. I also approach psychological testing in an integrative way with the overarching goal of developing a robust understanding of a client’s strengths, and challenges in addition to answering specific referral questions. I am passionate about my work as a Clinical Psychologist and enjoy helping people realize their potential—whether it is through individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, psychological assessment or evaluation of complex diagnoses.
My Education, Credentials and Experience: I am licensed by the state of California as a Psychologist (PSY29354). I
completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Masters in Psychology
at the The New School for Social Research in New York, NY. I completed
my predoctoral internship at an American Psychology Association (APA)
nationally accredited training site— Mount Sinai Beth Israel. I completed my APA accredited postdoctoral
residency at Kaiser Permanente’s Outpatient Psychiatric clinic in Pleasanton, CA.
