In private practice full-time since 1985 and have conducted over 30,000 sessions of psychotherapy. Specialize in relational difficulties, personality dysfunction, trauma, and complex issues. Received the 2006 Distinguished Contribution to the Practice of Psychology Award from the American Psychological Association. In 2010 served as President of the Division of Psychotherapy of APA. Have written or edited 8 professional volumes and published extensively. Have developed a unified approach to psychotherapy using methods and techniques from many evidence-based approaches. Have been featured in two APA videotapes showing approach to treatment. Founder of the Unified Psychotherapy Project unifiedpsychotherapyproject.org.
