Mark Lowenthal
I have been in practice for more than 25 years helping adults, adolescents, and children cope with stress-related issues such as anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. My approach involves helping my clients to better understand themselves and their patterns of interaction, so that they can develop greater self acceptance and more effective coping strategies. My style tends to be interactive as I try to provide a warm and caring approach to help you understand and work through the difficult issues in your life.
In addition to doing individual and marital work with adults, I also work with children, adolescents, and families. With children and teens, my focus is on developing a good working alliance, while I also attempt to work closely with their parents to increase the use of effective parenting strategies and improved communication.
I am the co-author (with Eileen Kennedy-Moore) of SMART PARENTING FOR SMART KIDS: NURTURING YOUR CHILD'S TRUE POTENTIAL (Jossey-Bass/Wiley). This book is the recipient of multiple awards including the Mom's Choice Gold Award, for the best in family-friendly media.
