Mary Ann “Macy” Scott
Dr. Scott is licensed in South Carolina as a Psycho-Educational Specialist and certified as a School Psychologist III. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and is a Diplomate of the American Board of School Neuropsychology. She has a Doctoral degree in School Psychology and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology and School Counseling. Dr. Scott also completed Post-Doctoral work in School Neuropsychology.
Dr. Scott began her career specializing in the assessment of giftedness and Autism. She has since added expertise in child and adolescent anxiety, AD/HD, learning disabilities, and executive dysfunction. Dr. Scott specializes in a positive approach to assessment, recognizing and bolstering students’ strengths as well as remediating/intervening in areas of weakness. Her treatment approach is cognitive-behavioral with a focus on mindfulness.
In addition to her work in schools, Dr. Scott has been an administrator of student support programs and a consultant to both families and schools on student academic and emotional functioning. Dr. Scott specializes in psychoeducational assessment with particular expertise in the assessment of Dyslexia & Dysgraphia as well as other Learning Disorders; ADHD; Anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorder; and other neurocognitive disorders. She also has expertise in the area of giftedness.
