Maurice Levy
I am a Clinical and School Psychologist who works with children, adolescents and adults at ARC Counseling and Wellness in Claremont and Irvine. I received a combined degree in Clinical and School Psychology and have worked in counseling and educational settings for over a decade. Through the therapeutic process, I help clients identify social, emotional and/or behavioral goals and acquire the desired skills to reach those goals.
As a psychologist who specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I use a variety of empirically validated techniques to meet the unique needs of clients. Some of the strategies used in CBT include thought & feeling logs, cognitive disputation exercises, exposure techniques, role-playing, assertiveness training, anger management, and relaxation training.
Through the use of CBT techniques, clients can acquire a diverse skill set to help manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger, and adjustment difficulties (e.g. change in employment, relationship status, academic stress). In addition, when working with children, I closely collaborate with guardians and educators in order to help the child reach their goals.
