Megan Alsop
Dr. Megan Alsop completed a fellowship at Sheppard Pratt Hospital’s Trauma Program, in which she treated and evaluated individuals with extensive physical and sexual abuse childhood histories. This work included outpatient and inpatient treatment and assessment of PTSD and dissociative symptoms, and often accompanying self-harming and suicidal behaviors. She has worked in various settings, including college counseling centers, community mental health clinics (general and LGBT focused), and residential facilities. Her predoctoral internship included working with adults with developmental disabilities, including Intellectual Disability, Autism, and Rett’s among others, with co-occurring psychiatric illnesses.
She graduated from Loyola University Maryland with her Psy.D. of Clinical Psychology, and subsequently taught as adjunct faculty there. She has taught at a number of other colleges and universities, including Loyola University New Orleans, Delgado Community College, and TCSPP at Xavier University of Louisiana, in which she also acted as the Director of Clinical Training for the clinical psychology doctoral program for three years. She also serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Professional Psychology: Research and Practice.
