About:

Michelle FerrerI help my clients lower life’s background chatter and get back to what really matters to them. My goal is to help you and your child understand yourselves better, as individuals and within the multiple life roles you both bring. This knowledge can be used to better meet life’s many demands. I also aim to bring families and parents together when they are feeling isolated, disconnected, or overwhelmed. Through this challenging yet rewarding work, you and your child can learn new ways to respond to uncomfortable internal thoughts, behave in ways that limit suffering, and accept the array of feelings that come with being human. While life did not lend us an instruction manual, I use a variety of effective evidence-based treatments to help my clients get back on track amidst life’s most challenging moments.  I achieve this by providing a safe and non-judgmental space to allow for honest and brave dialogue. I will also collaborate with you and your family to ensure treatment is progressing the
way you want it to.

I obtained my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Yeshiva University- Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology (YU) and completed my clinical psychology internship at University of California- San Francisco (UCSF) specializing in children and families. I also completed a forensic psychology post-doctoral fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC). Other practicum sites I obtained training include: NYU Child Study Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Mount Sinai/Beth Israel Hospital, and Rikers Island Department of Corrections.

Our treatment will start by getting to know each other through an assessment where we can determine individual goals for your personalized plan. I am humbled and excited to share this part of your journey with you. Please call now to make an appointment and take your next step.
