Michelle Hintz
I am a licensed psychologist and a board-certified music therapist. While I do work with adults, my primary work is with children & their families. I have training in behavior modification, family therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy & developmental psychology. I worked at Miami Children's Hospital's Department of Psychiatry. I conduct evaluations for learning disabilities, conduct and behavioral disorders, autism, mood and personality disorders. I have been an expert witness for some cases and regularly conduct school visits, attend IEP meetings, and consult with other professionals. I also work with young adults with relationship and work issues.
I work with children with complex clinical profiles, multiple diagnoses, and challenging situations. I have inpatient child/adolescent hospitalization experience. I work with children who have autism, limited verbal skills and aggressive or oppositional tendencies. I have ADOS and floortime experience as well as sensory integration strategies.
I own The Cadenza Center for Psychotherapy & the Arts, Inc. which is a Miami/Ft. Lauderdale based agency serving persons with developmental, emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioral needs using active treatment interventions. We have several types of creative arts services in addition to traditional outpatient psychotherapy.
