Dr. Miriam Aframe is a licensed clinical psychologist with over a dozen years of experience working with a broad range of child, adolescent and adult populations, providing individual and group counseling as well as psychological assessments and parent support. Dr. Aframe has worked in residential, day treatment, foster care, private practice and school settings. She spent several years overseeing the mental health care of all students and staff at a therapeutic day school for children with neurodevelopmental disorders of relating and communicating, including autism spectrum disorders. She is passionate in her use of Floortime™, one component of the DIR® model, in fostering emotionally rich interactions in order to further social, emotional and intellectual development. Dr. Aframe uses this relational approach in working with children with neurodevelopmental delays, as well as those who are neurotypical and in need of support.
Dr. Aframe received her BA from Brandeis University and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University. She is a certified DIRFloortime® Practitioner through The Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning (ICDL).
