Dr. Savage is a graduate of Catholic University of America. He received his license to practice Psychology in 1986 and has practiced as a Licensed Psychologist in Prince George’s but most recently in Montgomery County for thirty plus years. He has lived in the Washington, D.C. area for most of his life and been a member of the Maryland Psychological Association (MPA) member since 1987. He has worked for the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County, Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery County Health Department, operated an Employee Assistance Program for a major corporation in the area, and served as a peer reviewer/advisor for a local insurance company in addition to maintaining a private practice. He is a fellow of the Maryland Psychological Association (MPA), a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), and the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN).

Most recently he was recognized for his commitment to and passion for his work by receiving the Maryland Psychological Association’s 2017 award for Lifetime Professional Contributions to Psychology.

Dr. Savage has served as a leader in his state’s professional organization (MPA) since the Fall of 2007 to 2016. He has served as chairman of the Professional Practice Committee, a member of the Legislative Committee, chairman of the Finance Committee, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors of MPA. He has held elected positions of Treasurer and President Elect, President (’13-’14) and Past President. He is well regarded by his professional colleagues.

Dr. Savage has also written a number of articles for the Maryland Psychologist as well as serving on several editorial boards of professional journals: Applied Neuropsychology, Applied Neuropsychology: Adult, and Applied Neuropsychology: Child.
