Rachel Waxman
As you have surely noticed, life can throw some impressive challenges your way. You may be less aware of the equally impressive abilities that you possess to face those challenges. Over the course of a decade working with people of various backgrounds and personalities, I have seen firsthand the tremendous power that we have over how to interpret and react to our experiences. My expertise lies in helping people of all ages find this power and use it to cope with emotions and situations that once seemed overwhelming.
I am a psychologist who has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of sites including general outpatient and hospital settings, and I have also worked on research related to personality disorders, alcohol use, and co-occurrence of mental health issues with each other and with medical conditions.
I conduct individual and family therapy and comprehensive psychological and learning evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. In all of these domains, my guiding principle is to support you in your personal goals and values while providing you with concrete tools to tackle life's difficulties. My readiness to view the world from your perspective allows me to apply my knowledge of CBT, ACT, and other therapies in a creative way to meet your individual needs.
