Robert Miller PhD
Robert James Miller II Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in New York and New Jersey and is openning his new office in Princeton. Dr. Miller will provide psychological services including child and adult psychotherapy, parenting consultation, and trauma therapy.
For thirteen years, Dr. Miller provided psychotherapy for children and families, and forensic evaluation for adults and children as well as expert witness testimony in court related child protection matters in Montclair, New Jersey.
He completed postdoctoral training in forensic psychology at the Audrey Hepburn Children’s House, Northern Regional Diagnostic Center for Child Abuse and Neglect at the Hackensack University Medical Center. He has taught at Montclair State University, Lesley University Extension campus in Netanya Israel, and at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He is a graduate and training director for the Institute for the Arts in Psychotherapy and currently works with students and families at Apollo Education in Beijing, China.
Before completing his doctorate in clinical psychology at the Union Institute and University, The Graduate Program; Dr. Miller completed pre-doctoral internships at the Women’s Trauma Program, Yale Psychiatric Institute and the Post Traumatic Stress Center of New Haven. For ten years, Dr. Miller served as supervisor for creative arts therapies at the National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Neurosciences Division, Yale University Clinical Campus, Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in West Haven, Connecticut where he competed his doctoral research on the concept of Alexithymia in posttraumatic stress disorder, and provided drama therapy for combat veterans and their families. He created the Home Front Veteran’s Theater Group touring original works with combat veteran actors in the New Haven area and received the National Center Award for his contribution to the understanding of PTSD in the community.
