I am committed to being real and appreciating the honesty and bravery you bring to work on things that are difficult in your life. A lot of people come into therapy feeling as though they "should" have been able to do this on their own, however, we are not born to know how to cope effectively with many of life's stressors and sometimes are even coming from environments that did not teach us great ways to do so. I work with people who struggle regulating their daily emotions and perhaps feel their emotions more intensely than others.
I primarily provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which focuses on mindfulness, crisis, preventative, and interpersonal skills to help improve coping with daily and past difficulties and improve relationships. I also provide trauma-informed therapies, process-oriented therapies, and alternative treatments, such as play therapies.
I work best with people who are looking for structure. I want to help you make tiny daily tweaks that may lead to significant life changes. I also provide as-needed phone coaching in my DBT practice, which are brief calls used to help guide you in applying in-session skills to everyday life.
