Sarah Kirk
I view counseling as an opportunity for people to get the support they need to get themselves back on track. I work with people’s strengths to help them meet their goals in the realms of life stresses, relationship issues, personal growth, or emotional healing. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I am also experienced in differential diagnosis, which essentially means getting to the bottom of what is going on. Accurate diagnosis is important because this can determine which course of treatment is most appropriate. In addition to my general practice, I have an expertise in evaluating youth at risk of school shootings. I am the author of "Why Kids Kill: Inside the Minds of School Shooters" and maintain a website on this topic (www.schoolshooters.info). I also have a specialty in multicultural issues and am the author of "Jewish Issues in Multiculturalism." Outside of work I am a poet and playwright.
