I am a licensed psychologist specializing in treating children and adolescents and working with their families in working with these youth to live life to their fullest. Using a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral, play therapy, and interpersonal therapy, I work with children on conquering their anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms or whatever is currently interfering with their ability to be fully functioning, independently successful people. Sometimes this requires working closely with parents or other caretakers as well as the young person. For those who are unsure as to what is wrong, a variety of evaluations are available to guide diagnosis and/or treatment. Practicums at Texas Children's Hospital Learning Support Center, Baylor College of Medicine Family and Star of Hope Center, and the Children's Assessment Center as well as an APA approved clinical psychology internship with the Houston Independent School District, provided a wealth of training and knowledge in providing the best and most appropriate care to children and adolescents. A Postdoctoral position with the Special Education Department at HISD provided additional evaluation and consultation training.
