Shiro Torquato
Is your child struggling in school, anxious, can't focus or seems depressed? Dr. Shiro Torquato specializes in PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENTS and EDUCATIONAL CONSULTATIONS for children and teens. If your child is getting poor grades, having difficulty paying attention, or can't make friends, a psychological assessment could reveal the source of these issues. The results of this assessment will suggest interventions to help your child be happier and more successful. Dr. Torquato performs a comprehensive evaluation of your child's learning, cognitive abilities, social/emotional functioning and behavior to determine the core problems and make recommendations to help your child succeed at home and school.
She also guides parents through the SPECIAL EDUCATION process and attends Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) meetings. Moreover, Dr. Torquato enjoys working collaboratively with school psychologists, teachers and administrators, in order to assist parents in ADVOCATING effectively for their children.
Finally, Dr. Torquato has a strong background in developmental disabilities and APPLIED BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS (ABA). So, she is able to assess and diagnose children with neuro-developmental disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD and learning disabilities (Dyslexia).
