Dr. Kool is the owner and clinical director for Desert Sage Health (DSH). DSH has several providers and specialties, allowing us to treat a wide range of presenting issues. We provide services for children to older adults, as well as psychological assessments. Dr. Kool earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. She has been practicing in the field of psychology since 2005 and specialized in the area of addictions from 2006 to 2016. She worked as a clinical director for a year-long substance abuse treatment center from 2006-2012 and was the Chief Program Officer at a substance abuse treatment center that offered residential, partial-hospitalization and intensive out-patient care from 2012 to 2016. Dr. Kool started her career working with children and families and received training in neuropsychological assessments. She has experience running educational and process groups and treats addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, family conflict and other presenting issues. Her treatment approach is based on meeting the client where they are at and typically includes cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness based interventions to reduce a client’s current level of discomfort and increase positivity in his/her life. She oversees the clinical team and provides clinical supervision to team members in the process of becoming independently licensed.
