Susan Chalfin
Dr. Chalfin is a FL licensed clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. from Clark University. She currently provides psychological services for children, adolescents, adults, and families in private practice at Chalfin Psychology Services, Inc. in South Miami, FL. She specializes in providing psychological treatment for anxiety and depression, individual and family therapy for developmental, learning and behavioral disorders, parent training, and trauma informed care to children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events. She has extensive psychological testing experience, providing developmental assessment of young children as well as cognitive, academic, emotional and personality assessments of children and adolescents. She also provides inpatient pediatric psychology consultation services at Baptist Children's Hospital. Dr. Chalfin currently has a community-based faculty appointment at Florida International University and trains Family Medicine Residents in Behavioral Medicine. She previously was on faculty at the University of Miami and employed at Jackson Health System, as the Director of Psychology Training and Attending Psychologist for the Child and Adolescent Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. Dr. Chalfin has published articles on developmental disabilities, parenting stress, parent training and family therapy. She has presented at local and national conferences on developmental disorders, childhood aggression, home-based interventions for ADHD, and LGBTQ and lectured extensively on assessment of suicide and depression, safety planning, parenting, psychological adjustment to mental illness, and psychological assessment.
