Susan Koller
I have been practicing psychology with children since receiving my Ph.D. over 30 years ago .School psychology covers hours beyond the typical school day. In addition to tracking academic progress of students and intervening when necessary, professionals in school psychology try to ensure that students have an acceptable life before and after school hours.Often school psychologists intervene in cases of parental violence and child abuse after school hours in order to keep students safe. Children often see school psychologists as a safe harbor from the storm around them. School-family liaison is one of the many ways school psychologists guide parents to provide the best living situation possible so that their children stay on the path of success both socially and academically.
