Susan Peterman
I have worked in the Hartford area for most of my 30 year career, and I currently maintain a private practice in West Hartford. After earning my B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University and my PhD degree from the University of Virginia, I worked in inpatient and outpatient settings. I enjoy working with people of all ages (children, teens and adults). For many years I have specialized in the treatment of eating problems and disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment to divorce and remarriage, and women's issues including fertility problems, post-partum depression and problems associated with menopause. I use an integrative approach and have been trained in psychodynamic, family systems, interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and EMDR therapies. In addition to my clinical work, I have worked with people to find the best fit for career satisfaction and am a certified Highlands Company consultant. I also spend some of my time devoted to executive coaching for C-suite executives employed by global as well as local US based organizations.
