I was initially drawn to psychology because I wanted to help children, teenagers, and families struggling with their emotions, behaviors, family relationship problems, or difficulties with peers. To this end, I did my undergraduate work at Cornell University and my graduate training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Over the years, I have worked in community mental health clinics, elementary and middle schools, university clinics, hospitals, as well as specialty clinics, and expanded my training to work with adults as well. I opened my practice in 2009 and currently provide outpatient therapy and consultation services, as well as psychological and psychoeducational testing.

Some of my areas of expertise in therapeutic work with children, adolescents, adults, and families include: depression, anxiety concerns, self-esteem, coping skills, social problems, school adjustment, learning concerns, family transitions (including separation and divorce), life transitions, and grief. I also work with parents on co-parenting during separation and divorce, as well as the development of parenting plans to meet their children’s needs before, during, and after these transitions.

Some areas in which I could help include testing to clarify learning challenges or disability, giftedness, eligibility for early kindergarten entry, attention concerns, as well as other diagnostic clarification.
