Ta’janette Sconyers
Ta’janette Sconyers, Ph.D. has been inspired by her ancestors, mentors, family, and friends to live her life with intention and purpose...and to inspire others to do the same. She has assumed many roles throughout her career including: adjunct professor, consultant, researcher, speaker, therapist, and more.
With regard to her psychological work, Dr. Sconyers is licensed as a Psychologist in Missouri. She specializes in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Anxiety-Related Disorders including but not limited to generalized anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobia, panic disorder, etc. She primarily uses motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and exposure and response prevention in her work. Dr. Sconyers provides individualized sessions with adults and children ages 12 and up, but considers caregiver involvement an essential component of child-related services.
Dr. Sconyers earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Truman State University. She then earned her Master of Education Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Career Psychology from the University of Missouri. Dr. Sconyers went on to earn her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with a Multicultural Psychology minor from the University of Missouri. She completed her postdoctoral residency at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute and has worked at a behavioral health center, juvenile detention center, law firm, and counseling center leading up to the launch of Inspired Consulting & Psychological Services.
Dr. Sconyers is a Black woman who brings her background and varied experiences to her work. She sees the world in a color-conscious manner and believes that individuals know themselves best. Thus, she attempts to create warm and affirming spaces where people can feel that it is safe to be vulnerable.
Dr. Sconyers is happy to accompany people alongside their journey of seeking the life they want to live.
