About:

Dr. Theresa M. Schultz earned her Ph.D. in Developmental & Clinical Psychology from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and completed clinical training at the University of Chicago, Northwestern, and Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s medical centers, and Cook County Hospital. Dr. Schultz is a UMASS Medical School nationally certified Primary Care Behavioral Health Specialist and a National Consultant for Physician Well-Being Programs/Support Services. She and colleagues in the Illinois Psychological Association (IPA) have led efforts in health care reform for Illinois mental health professionals; she is currently the IPA North Region Representative, a member of the APA’s Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology (LIWP), Associate Editor of APA Div42’s Independent Practitioner, and Chair of APA’s Continuing Education Committee (CEC).

Dr. Schultz is the founder of TMS Psychological Services/Dr. Schultz & Associates. She and Dr. Jeremy Bidwell are co-founders of The LodeStone Center for Behavioral Health, a pioneering collaborative clinical practice, currently with five (5) locations in Chicago/suburbs and a team of 30 clinical/administrative staff. As both a Clinical & Developmental Psychologist, Dr. Schultz considers the personal, relational, social, spiritual, and cultural factors that influence mental/physical well-being. Dr. Schultz provides therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and families with a wide range of concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, developmental and life cycle transitions, traumatic losses (including due to sudden death), relationship issues, and personal growth-focused work. Dr. Schultz also specializes in work with developmental disorders (especially Autism Spectrum Disorder) and complex neurocognitive problems/Tourette Syndrome (TS). Therapeutic approaches include empirically-based Cognitive-Behavioral interventions, client-focused, solution-oriented, trauma-informed, narrative-based, and mindfulness-based work.
