About:

Tim CAVELLTim Cavell, PhD is a clinical psychologist who uses short-term, problem-focused therapy that builds on your existing strengths. He has worked extensively with troubled families, difficult children, hyperactive students, rebellious teens, depressed adolescents, worried moms, disengaged dads, distressed couples, weary wives, and lost husbands. Dr. Cavell is also trained to treat children and teens who suffer from OCD.
Dr. Cavell is also Professor in the Department of Psychological Science at the University of Arkansas. He is an expert on parent- and mentor-based interventions for children who are highly aggressive or chronically bullied. His work has been funded by the Department of Education and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and he has authored over 50 journal articles and chapters and 2 books: Working with Parents of Aggressive Children: A Practitioner’s Guide (2000), and Anger, Aggression, and Interventions for Interpersonal Violence (2006). Dr. Cavell earned his PhD at LSU and interned at the Morrison Center for Youth and Families in Portland, OR. He and his wife, Lauri, live in Fayetteville, AR have three children.
