Dr. Slattery is a licensed psychologist in both Maryland and Washington, DC. She holds two doctoral degrees. Her first Ph.D. was earned from the American University and is in Education/Special Education/Learning Disabilities. Dr. Slattery earned her second doctoral degree from the George Washington University in Clinical Psychology, Child and Adolescent. In addition, she completed a postdoctoral program in neuropsychology and holds a certification in Neuropsychology. The majority of Dr. Slattery’s 30-year career has been spent in the fields of education and psychology working with children and their families.

Dr. Slattery’s practice focuses on children, adolescents and their families. She has advanced training in play therapy as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy. Additionally, she holds a certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She sees children ages two and one half and above. Because Dr. Slattery views children as living and functioning within the context of a system, her treatment includes parents, guardians, siblings, teachers, coaches, etc. Dr. Slattery has spent many years working in and with various schools in Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia and is therefore very comfortable and familiar working with teachers and administrators in that setting.

In addition, to individual therapy, Dr. Slattery possesses an expertise in psycho-educational and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents and young adults. Dr. Slattery also performs Admissions Assessments for all area Independent schools.
