Wendi Schirvar
Wendi M Schirvar, PhD is a licensed Pediatric Clinical and School Psychologist who is currently only providing services via Telehealth. Her clients see her for parenting non-compliant and resistant behaviors; attentional and emotion regulation deficits. and various mood and behavioral diagnoses. With a background in Child Development, Attachment Research, Parent Education and Educational Psychology, she brings an eclectic blend of theory and practice to her work assisting individuals with specific behaviors as well as parenting issues (strengthening families and redirecting difficult behaviors), emotional and behavioral problems, testing concerns, school advocacy, educational planning and family goal-setting. She works with clients facing difficult times, be it diagnoses of anxiety, depression, complex issues, learning disabilities, using a multi-system approach with individualized treatment plans aligned to multiple modalities of therapy.
She is a frequently sought presenter to local and national professional and parent groups as she brings humor and experience to her engaging presentations. Preferred topics include parenting, educational planning and family goal-setting; neuroatypical and dysynchronous development; school partnerships to address 2E; addressing Gifted needs in 504 and IEP development; and her favorite-parenting non-compliant and resistant behaviors. Dr. Schirvar believes that all families have strengths (apparent or yet to be discovered) and children have an innate desire to do well and CAN when provided with the right tools. She sees her “work” as a partner working to empower, coach and support families to realize and maximize their strengths.
