Kathy Wu
Dr. Kathy Wu has been counseling and educating children, teens, and young adults for over a decade. To date, she has worked in community mental health clinics, partial and inpatient psychiatric hospitals, therapeutic day treatment schools, outpatient practices, and schools. Her life's mission is to help as many young people as possible thrive against adversity, and maximize their capacity for joy, innovation, and wellness.
Dr. Wu earned her PhD in counseling psychology in 2016. She completed her APA accredited pre-doctoral training at Astor Services for Children and Families in the Bronx, NY, where she worked with children and their families with immense emotional and behavioral challenges. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in trauma therapy at the CARES Institute of Rowan University in 2017, providing psychotherapy to families whose children and teens had been abused and neglected.
Dr. Wu approaches each therapy session with creativity and intentionality. She is deft at integrating evidence-based treatment interventions to help her clients feel better sooner. Dr. Wu is certified or advanced in using the following treatment modalities:
