Ruth Kraus
Ruth Kraus, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist; she has a private practice in Northbrook, Illinois. She earned her doctorate at University of Chicago and completed an APA-approved internship at Michael Reese Hospital. She was the Manager of the Child, Adolescent, and Family Program at Humana in Chicago, and was Director of their Adolescent Intensive Treatment Program. Following this, she joined the faculty of the University of Chicago as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, where she provided direct clinical service to clients and also supervised interns. In her current practice, she specializes in independent evaluations, including neuropsychological testing, for children and adolescents to assist with diagnosis and educational planning. Utilizing cognitive-behavioral and family systems frameworks, she provides individual therapy to adolescents and adults, and she also works as part of a therapy team to help families in high conflict divorce or post-decree situations when there is contact resistance between child(ren) and one of the parents, the goal being to reunify and rebalance family relationships. Recently, she has joined the faculty of Rush University Medical Center as an Assistant Professor, working to develop a satellite clinic in Northbrook for their autism assessment and treatment program.
