Dr. Carey Heller is a licensed psychologist. His assessment specialties include evaluations for ADHD/executive functioning, learning disabilities, and mood/behavioral disorders in children and adolescents. Dr. Heller's therapy specialties include work with children, adolescents, and young adults for issues including: ADHD, anxiety, and life transition issues. He also specializes in treating executive functioning issues (i.e., those related to time management, organizational, study skills) and loves to use technology (i.e., tablet/smartphone apps) to assist individuals in coping more effectively with deficits in this domain. In addition, for children and young adolescents who need active activities to help them engage in treatment, Dr. Heller uses tools such as playing catch, floor hockey, and mini golf. He will also use video games (with parent/guardian permission) if needed.

With remote learning due to Covid-19, Dr. Heller uses a telehealth video platform that allows for screen share and other features. Thus, when working with children and teens on school items, he is able to see their screen, view assignments together through a school's online portal, and view other items together as well.

Dr. Heller received his doctorate in clinical psychology from The George Washington University.

In addition to his work with the practice, Dr. Heller is an assistant clinical professor of clinical psychology at The George Washington University, providing assessment supervision to graduate students. He also serves on the board of the Montgomery County chapter of Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) as the chapter coordinator as well as on the board of Washington Independent Services For Educational Resources (WISER). Additionally, Dr. Heller is a national topic expert contributor on ADHD for goodtherapy.org. Finally, he is on the Editorial Advisory Board of CHADD's Attention Magazine.
