Chanchal Sharma
Dr. Chanchal Sharma was appointed to Assistant Clinical Member at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) and Assistant Attending Psychologist at Memorial Hospital, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Psychiatry Service and Department of Employee Health and Wellness. Dr. Sharma provides psychological assessment and intervention support to MSK employees and provides consultative services to MSK on mental health and wellness related issues in the workplace.
In the last 13 years, Dr. Sharma has been at Montefiore Hospital, where she worked both as a licensed clinical child/adolescent psychologist and as the Director of Mental Health Services at the Community Pediatric Programs, which include, South Bronx Health Center (SBHC), Center for Child Health & Resiliency (CCHR) and the New York Children’s Health Project (NYCHP), serving homeless families. She worked within a large interdisciplinary team of pediatricians, nurse practitioners, women’s health providers, adult and family physicians, nutritionists, and health educators. She has diverse experiences in both clinical and educational psychology and has done extensive research in this specialty. Her clinical skills include, conducting crisis interventions, psychological evaluations, individual therapy, play therapy, group therapy, and family therapy, and participating in didactic experiences and case conferences.
In addition, for the last five years, Dr. Sharma has led an innovative evidence-based video-feedback intervention program with mother-infant dyads, targeting at-risk mothers and their babies and has written a manuscript for publication in the field of infant mental health.
Dr. Sharma received her master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology at Columbia University, a doctoral degree in psychology at Pace University Graduate School, and she completed an APA Accredited Internship and Post-doctoral Fellowship at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital.
