Christa Labouliere
Do you or your child suffer from anxiety or depression? Do worry, social fears, or obsessive-compulsive disorder keep you from fully participating in life? Have you or someone you love felt desperate and suffered from suicidal thoughts or self-injury? Do you want to build a better life, a life worth living, and escape from overwhelming emotional pain and doubt? I help adolescents and young adults to become the people they want to be by developing skills they need to understand and manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors more effectively.
I am a Columbia- and NYU-trained clinical psychologist specializing in youth and young adult emotional disorders. I work collaboratively with clients (and their families, if indicated) using evidence-based interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention, habit reversal therapy/CBIT, and family therapy.
My 10+ years of research and clinical training have prepared me to help with the most intractable of clinical problems: body-focused repetitive behaviors (tics, hair pulling, skin picking), self-injury, pervasive suicidal thoughts, obsessive-compulsive and other anxiety disorders, the darkness of depression. Although it may not always feel like it, THERE IS HOPE. Please -- let me help.
